Ps Jim Newton just returned from his fourth trip to South Korea. Over the five days Ps Jim spent in South Korea, he ministered at four services and one Bible school graduation. It was the third time he had been asked to come to speak at a Bible school graduation.
The church in South Korea greatly desired a fresh move of God. Because their expectations were set so high, they experienced some of the best meetings they’d ever had. Ps Jim exhorted the people to continue in their expectations for the next big move of God.
“It’s on the horizon,” said Ps Jim. “Everyone can see it.”
When Ps Jim arrived in Seoul, he was greeted by three new faces – they knew him from his previous trips, but he was just getting to know them. Ps Ha, AFCM’s contact in Korea and Ps Jim’s usual host, is in the middle of establishing a Chinese church and had handed the church to a woman named Mi Jeung Kim. Mi Jeung requested an English name and after much discussion it was decided that she will be known as Ps Ruth. Ps Ha will continue to oversee the church, but the appointing of Ps Ruth allows him to focus on many of the outreaches he’s wanted to do.

“Visiting Korea is always interesting,” said Ps Jim, “because our main contact there, Ha, speaks only Chinese and his wife, Naomi, speaks only Chinese and Korean. In order to speak to Ps Ha, he must tell his wife what he wishes to say, who must then tell a translator who must then tell me.”
The Koreans are very excited about the work that AFCM is doing in South Korea, and they were incredibly thankful for the faith teachings that have been brought in.
“They would say to me: You brought the books. You brought the teaching. You changed our lives forever. You set this whole thing up,” said Ps Jim. “They insisted on showing me so much honour for this that I felt embarrassed.”
Ps Jim was simply the recipient of the honour and thanks the Koreans expressed for all the people who have been involved in getting the faith message to them. They are certain that it has changed the course of their ministry.
The South Koreans are very excited to get the same teachings they have experienced into other countries around them. They believe it is part of their destiny and will soon begin taking steps to translate the Bible schools into Korean (currently they are using a school of a different language, and someone must stand at the front and translate it as it is being watched).
Praying for the Nations
Continue to pray that the work Renewal Church is doing around South Korea will continue and expand.
Pray that the Koreans will have the endurance and resources necessary to translate the Bible schools into Korean.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Reach Out Project. We raised over $15,000, just a little under our goal, but enough to make a significant impact on the things we're doing around the world. We still need to hit the $20,000 mark, so if you've not had a chance to give yet, but would like to, you can head over to our
giving page, or call or
email the office.
We are confident that those of you who have given to continue the work of AFCM will be mightily blessed - in more ways than just financial. We pray for you and thank God for you every day. (Ephesians 1:15)

If you’ve ever been to India or Nepal on a missions trip, it will come as no surprise to you that it is wonderfully difficult. The last couple weeks of November, Ps Jim Newton and Ps David Pearce spent two weeks traipsing around India and Nepal, visiting orphanages, preaching in churches, holding AFCM meetings for the newly established AFCM India and working to make contacts to set up AFCM Nepal.
The men were able to visit three orphanages, Living Word Fellowship Orphanage, Freedom Orphanage and Love Your Neighbor as Yourself Orphanage.
“The orphanage is important,” Ps Jim said, “because they take kids who have lost parents and give them stability, salvation, the Word, hope and a future for life, which they wouldn’t have had otherwise.”
At the orphanage Ps Jim and David were able to pray with the children, share the word with them and encourage them in their pursuits of God and holiness. Many of them were able to practice their English as they talked with Ps Jim and David. They shared their visions of what they wanted to do with their lives and the things they felt the Lord was showing them.
One afternoon Ps Jim and David took the children to the beach to have a play.
“It was important to take them to the beach because it was where they wanted to go,” Ps Jim said. “When they do something different it adds something to their life. And it’s important for the children to know that Living Word cares for them, not just their day to day living but also that they can have fun together.”
At Love Your Neighbor as Yourself, and all-girls orphanage, the children learn to sing songs and do skits in English. They know about 200 songs and skits. The often go out to the streets, shopping centres and other public places to reach out to the community and to evangelize. People see them and want to know who they are and where they come from and that gives them the opportunity to be a witness.
Currently, Freedom Orphanage has 6 orphans who are not sponsored. If you would like to help them, visit our
giving page and specify orphan sponsorship.
One of the pastors who’d had Ps Jim minister on a previous trip was so determined to have him there again that when Ps Jim wasn’t able to fit the pastor’s church in on Sunday, the pastor decided to hold a Saturday evening meeting. The worship at the service was passionate. Ps Jim preached about Bartimaeus and how Jesus had asked him “What is it you want?” Ps Jim asked the people in attendance what they wanted from the Lord. He told them to stand up, lift their hands and tell the Lord what they wanted. He found out later that many of them had never told the Lord what they wanted before. At the end of the service, they asked anyone who felt they had received healing or a miracle to come to the front and testify. Only four of them were able to share before they ran out of time. The next morning at church, the pastor asked for testimonies the night before, and there were so many that he wasn’t even able to preach – it took up the whole morning service!
Praying for the Nations
Translation of AFCM International Training Centre into Indian dialects is currently underway. Pray that this would continue smoothly so that we can get the Bible school into the people’s hands as soon as possible.
Pray also that connections will continue to be made with pastors and ministers in Nepal and other countries nearby. One of AFCM’s goals in India is to encourage the Christians there to take the Gospel to surrounding nations.
Pray that God gives supernatural direction to those who are working with the Buddhists in India, Nepal and other nearby countries. While on the trip to India, Ps Jim met a girl who attends a Christian school and even sang songs about Jesus and how He had risen from the dead and is the Son of God. “But,” she said, “I am Tibetan and my Tibetan religion (Buddhism) must come first.”

On his recent trip to Kenya, Pastor Jim Newton ministered in 6 prisons at 7 AFCM International Training Centre (ITC) graduations.
- 251 students graduated including 20 officers and 17 women
- 370 responded to the call given for salvation
- For 4 of the prisons, this was their 1st ITC graduation
- For one prison, it was their 3rd
- For the other, it was their 4th
Praying for the Nations
Pray that God will continue to open doors in the prisons in Africa. AFCMITC is currently in 6 prisons, but there are more than 30 in Kenya.
Pray also for the graduates of the ITC. Many of them go back to their communities when they are released and have the opportunity to make an incredible impact.

It was a drizzly Sunday night during an outdoor meeting in Port Villa, Vanuatu. The service had started two hours earlier than scheduled because the band had 'just shown up early'. Preaching two hours earlier than expected was the last thing from Pastor Jim Newton's mind when he had returned to his hotel that afternoon, but as he stepped onto the stage, he trusted God for every word he was about to say.
Prompted by the Holy Spirit, Ps Jim made an altar call for the young people in the park to come up to the front to be prayed for. One after another they came on and on until it seemed there were more young people standing on the stage than there had been in the park itself only moments ago.
“I think the young people’s response affected everyone because they are the future of the nation of Vanuatu,” Ps Jim said. “It was just incredible.”
The call to the youth was the climax of a week of meetings designed to encourage the Vanuatuans to awaken the call from God to reach the nations, aptly called the Awakening the Nations conference and under the direction of Ps Roy Funu. Two to three hundred people turned up for each evening meeting.
Though the purpose of the conference is to encourage the people of the Pacific Islands to begin to reach other nations, God’s Kingdom in all areas of life—environmental, social, and spiritual—seemed to be a thread wound through this particular conference. On Friday Ps Jim preached on the Kingdom Lifestyle, encouraging those at the meeting to live out the checklist of right-living listed in James 5.
At the end of the conference the Vanuatuans passed Bibles on to Solomon Islanders who will be holding an Awakening the Nations conference next June. It was one of the most significant moments of the conference according to Ps Jim. More than 80 Solomon Islanders attended the meetings.
“This is what AFCM is all about,” Ps Jim said. “Sowing into another man’s ministry and supporting him. The idea is that eventually we can be organizing teams to go out to the nations and working toward ways we can partner together with the Pacific islands and awakening the nations.”
Praying for the Nations
The Pacific Islands are unusually Christian in their heritage and beliefs though in the faith message the people are unlearned. It is imperative that as the body of Christ we begin to bring sound doctrine to them. Because of this desire to know more about Christianity and the rich heritage their nations have, meetings like this often draw high-ranking government officials. We need to pray that the government officials will continue to be drawn to learn more about the Word of God, and that their national and international policies will be affected by the Truth they receive.
